This is my first UI concept project made with Figma in February. And I would like to share some experience of using Figma and why I want to redesign iPhone setup views.
I think the first expression to your iPhone is unboxed and launch your new iPhone. I feel the original B/W color is quite good, but what if we add some interesting elements to the design? Let’s try and redesign the interface👨💻 .
Reimagine what’s possible…
Hello & Select Language Screen
- Lack of Colors
- Looks Boring
- Not easy to find a Language (Add search bar?)
- Missing Language Title (NavTitle may looks good)
- Add new Color Gradients to the text
- Use SF Pro Rounded instead of SF Pro Text
- Always keep the Single Word Message on the center
- Add a New Title
- Add transition effect when selected a language.
- When the user scroll to the top, search bar appears.
Major Problem for below all views: Not sure why Apple sometimes use symbol and sometimes use screenshot at the top.
Quick Start Session
- Use symbol instead of screenshot
- Bigger words look fantastic
- Color Gradients TopBox also looks good :)
Notice: The colors Gradients of the top box is using same blue color to the bottom of the box. The symbol inside the box used Apple’s SF Symbol.
Activate your device via Wifi
Security (FaceID & Passcode)
No matter you setup FaceID or not, you still need a passcode for your iPhone. Thus, passcode setup should be in front of the FaceID setup in my view.
Combine them in the same page.
Restore or transfer your data
User may not ready to transfer their data at this step.
Simply the options and allow user restore backup later.
Sign in with your Apple ID
Simply the design and remove unnecessary words and icon. Let the user focus on login/register AppleID.
To simply register procedure, check if the input Apple ID is not existed, redirect to registration view.
Set up Siri
Set up 5G
